She was born in Trinity, Texas on September 28, 1932 to her parents, Willie Dee and Fannie Mae Bumstead. Mae graduated from Trinity High School shortly before marrying Reverend Edward Poole on July 17, 1950. They built a beautiful life of faith and family throughout their 51 years of marriage. She thoroughly enjoyed being a pastor's wife and ministering alongside her husband at several different church homes across Texas. Mae was also an extremely family oriented person; she shared not only her love of Jesus with her family but also her love of music. She had a beautiful singing voice and played numerous instruments. After many family memories revolving around music, her children inherited that musical passion which, as a result, created a family of musicians and singers. Mae was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother; her children and grandchildren meant the absolute world to her and she will be dearly missed by all of them.
Later in life when her sons were adults and starting their own families, Mae began a second hard-working career with the IRS. In 2002, sadness struck the Poole family when Mae became a widow after Edward passed away. A couple years later, Mae's prayers were answered and she found happiness again when she remarried on July 6, 2004 to Mr. William Anderson.
In her retirement years, Mae was a faithful and loyal member of High Pointe Baptist Church where she loved worshipping with her church family, helping others in the community, and accepting the guidance and love of her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie (Maudine) Reeves; her brother, James Robert Bumstead; her first husband, Reverend Edward Ray Poole; her son, Kenneth Ray Poole; and her second husband, William Anderson.
Left behind to cherish Mae’s memory include her children, Richard Poole, Tim Poole (Brenda), and Gary Poole (Sharry); her grandchildren, Kenny Poole, Jr. (Michelle), Sherilyn Habbit, Tiffany Fry (Brandon), Heather Poole, Brittany Katirai (Anis), Amber Poole, Caleb Poole, Kayla Campbell (Jordan), Cierra Poole, and Makylee Poole. She is also survived by her sister, Stella Weeks (Donald), ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Mae was an incredibly kind person, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
