

He was born April 6, 1931 to Charles and Irene (Daniels) Redkey in Giddings, Texas.
After graduating Giddings High School, Malcolm served in the United States Air Force for 4 years from November 1951 to November 1955, during this time he was stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix Arizona, Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska and McClellan AFB in Sacramento California.
After returning from the service, he lived in Giddings for a short time. He then moved to Austin where he ran into his childhood neighbor Lupe Muniz at her place of work, Matt’s El Rancho. They fell in love and were married on May 13, 1958 until her passing on July 6, 2002.
Malcolm retired from Montgomery Ward where he worked in the shipping and receiving department for over 25 years.
He is survived by their children and their families: Timothy, wife Tami, children TG, Matthew, Candace Miller and Zakary Balderas of San Antonio. Charles, wife Margaret, children Charles J. and Cameron of Round Rock. Lisa Cantu, husband Rudolph, daughter Adrianne of Austin. Sandra Navarro, husband Joel (deceased), children Joel Jr, Jake and Nicole of Austin. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Matt Jr, Nariah, Aubree, Maximus, Avery and Sebastian.
Malcolm was well respected and had a great sense of humor. He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Malcolm will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jake Navarro, Charles J. Redkey, Cameron Redkey, Timothy Glenn Redkey, Matthew Redkey, Matthew Redkey Jr. and Sebastian Navarro.
