Martha M Rivera

Martha was born on November 26", 1948 in McAllen Texas to Enrique Montemayor and Nicolasa Gonzales Montemayor. She grew up in Elgin, Texas with her seven siblings and extended family of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She married the love of her life, Pablo Rivera Jr in Elgin Texas on November 30" 1968 and moved to New Jersey shortly after. She worked as an accountant at Caltex Petroleum from 1973 until she moved back to Texas in 1980. After moving back she had a thriving career with Teacher Retirement System retiring with32 years of service. She was then rehired part time for another 7 years (because they could not do without her). She was so knowledgeable with all things payroll and insurance that many of her friends and family would rely on her expertise.

She loved being in her yard gardening or redecorating her much loved home. She loved traveling, spending time with family and friends and finding a good deal at the stores.

She is survived by her loving husband Pablo Rivera Jr, Daughter Amanda Legg and husband Scott; grandchildren Justin Legg and Ritchie Legg; Siblings Sergio Montemayor, Albert Montemayor, Rebecca Phd, Anna LaFuente, Elida Dandridge, and Gracie Lind.

Martha was preceded in dearth by her parents Enrique and Nicolasa Montemayor and older sister Maria Guadalupe Montemayor.

A memorial service for Martha will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, followed by a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Cancer Society.
