Marvin Winfred Walters, Jr.

Marvin was born in Liberty, Texas on June 27, 1947 to Marvin Winfred Walters, Sr. and Lottie Belva Duhon Walters. He was one of eleven children. Marvin was raised in Moss Hill, Texas and attended Hardin High School. He was a standout athlete and was awarded a full athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Texas at Austin. As an adult, Marvin spent much of his career as a construction project manager. He was the Deputy Director of Construction and Facilities at Camp Mabry for ten years.

Throughout his life, Marvin was a jack of all trades. He was a business owner, a craftsman, a pilot, an outdoorsman and a leader in his community. He could build anything and could fix everything. Marvin volunteered his time with organizations such as Blanco County 4-H, Johnson City Athletic Boosters and Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Association.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin Sr. and Lottie Belva Duhon as well as four of his siblings: His brother Dennis (Rusty) Webster Walters; His sisters Geneva Maxine Walters, Genette Elise Walters and Peggy Lynell Bearden.

Marvin is survived by six brothers and sisters: Patty Roberts, Marshall Walters, Wynette Walters, Judene Crocker, Robert Walters and Randy Walters. Marvin leaves behind four children: Angela Walters, Mark Walters, Kristalle Erwin, Michael Walters and his wife Becky. Marvin will be dearly missed by his best friend, partner and fiance, Tina Burford. Along with her children: Her son, Russell Hunziker and his wife Jessica; Her daughter Megan Thompson and her husband Joel.

Marvin leaves behind eight grandchildren to cherish his memory and carry on his incredible work ethic: Britney Walters, Kearsen Erwin, Tak Erwin, Kahlan Erwin, Maddison Rowley, Makenna Walters, Macee Walters, Jace Shilling and Trip Hunziker.

Marvin will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, his colleagues, his friends and most of all, his entire family.

Services honoring Marvin Winfred Walters, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
