Maureen Lucille Lewis passed away peacefully at her home on August 2, 2018 with loving family at her side. Lewis, age 92, was born on September 12, 1925 in Saline, Michigan to her parents Albert Bruce Henderson and Lucille Alma Seeger.
Lewis moved to Austin, Texas in 1951 and quickly thrived as a “transplant Texan”. She dearly loved her Texas Longhorns and her Dallas Cowboys. She met the love of her life in Austin and married LT. Col. Harold E. Lewis in 1975. They enjoyed gardening, traveling across the country, camping with their friends, and did absolutely everything together. She was an amazing cook as well as an outstanding artist who specialized in Texas landscape oil paintings.
Lewis is survived by her loving daughter Linda Lewis, granddaughter Shannon Minor and her husband William (WD); her son Scott Crothers and his wife Lisa, granddaughters Erica Crothers, Melina Crothers, Kim Lewis, Dana Lewis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Lewis, sister Phyllis Henderson Sharkey, and her son Larry Crothers.
There will be a Food and Fellowship gathering on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, followed by a brief graveside service at 11:15 a.m.
