

He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines, shipping out on the USS Saratoga.
He never met a stranger and was generous with everyone he knew. He had a great sense of humor. He had life-long friends most who have preceded him in death. He was an only child but loved Marie's brothers and sisters like they were his own. He was an avid animal lover, rescuing strays that were dropped off on the road by their house as well as ones that came looking for food outside his office.
He was a used car salesman for most of his life until retirement. He had the distinction of having car lots of 3 of the 4 corners of Congress and 1st Street.
M.W. is preceded in death by, mother, Emogene McPhaul, stepfather, Clyde McPhaul and Marie Hibbs, wife of 48 years and love of his life.
M.W. is survived by daughers, Glynda Love, Lago Vista, Darleen Koenig (Donald Koenig, Sr.) Austin and son Ronnie Hibbs, Austin, Texas.
Grandchildren, Donald Koenig Jr. (Laura Koenig) Austin, Stephen Koenig (Monica Condict) Austin and Jason Love (Sarah Love), Fulshear, Texas.
Great-grandchildren, Alleen and Miranda Koenig, Austin, Texas.
