Olive often spoke of her experiences during WWII having to seek shelter in bomb shelters. She also drove trucks in Birmingham as part of the war effort during the Korean War. Olive was also employed at the Cadbury Factory in Birmingham.
After meeting the love of her life, Jack Leatherman, during his U.S. naval military service, she immigrated with him to San Antonio, TX, where they married on January 11, 1960.
Olive was an accomplished artist and a member of the Marble Falls Art Guild while living in Spicewood, TX.
Olive is survived by her siblings Robert Chinn and wife Rosalind of Birmingham, England; Christine Clark and husband Roy of Great Yarmouth; and Gillian James and husband Roger of Devon.
She is also survived by her children Gail Leatherman-Stuart, Loraine Leatherman, and Paul Leatherman and wife Vicky; her eight grandchildren Kris Leatherman, Heather Stuart, Danielle Barron, Sara Hughes, Katrina Wallace, Briana Venegas, Shanna Gutierrez, and Cory Leatherman; and her nine great grandchildren Roxanne, Avery, Madison, MiKayla, Loey, Charlotte, Morgan, Chloe, and Theodore. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
