Patricia Ann Canon

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a dedicated registered nurse for more than thirty-seven years, touching many lives with her compassion, grace, and kindness. Throughout her life she was a constant source of faith, support, and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her graciousness and strength.

Patricia met her husband of forty years, John C. Canon, while serving in the Navy. They married in 1951 and settled in Austin to raise four children. Her beloved John passed away in 1992.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Constance Fogarty of Walla Walla, Washington; her four children – John Gregory Canon of Harlingen, Connie Jencks and husband Steve of Naperville, Illinois, Cee Hartley and husband Randy of Round Rock, and Sharon Halligan of Austin; ten grandchildren – Amy Canon, Matthew Canon, David Jencks, Thomas Jencks, Katie Jencks, Kim Hartley-Barbee and husband Michael, Chrissy Hartley, Ann Halligan, and John Halligan; and great-granddaughter, Micaela Grace Hartley-Barbee.

Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home Chapel in Pflugerville. A service will follow at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Patricia’s honor to the Christopher House, 2820 East Martin Luther King Blvd., Austin, Texas, 78702. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Christopher House for their loving care of Patricia.
