So sorry to hear of this, although we never met, his Mother was my Aunt who I only remember meeting one time in the early 70's. I was always hoping one day to meet all my cousins and unfortunately that was not to be. I hope the family can find peace on the great things he did in his life and feel comfort in memories...

To say it was a pleasure and privilege being in Boy Scout Troop 47 under Scoutmaster (Hawkeye) Roth's leadership, would be an understatement.
I had many great experiences with him and learned some good life lessons from him.
My love for rappelling, as well as the desire to help others, seems to have continued through my current firefighting career. Both of these experiences began in the Scouts.
It was also my honor and privilege to help escort Pat's remains to the cemetery as one of the patriot guard motorcycles.
Joyce and Erik, Joe and Scott Kump and family, and all the rest of the family, relatives, and friends - I hope you can find peace in knowing that your husband,  father, and loved one, a great man, mentor, and role model, is now helping God keep watch over all of us.

I first met Pat "Hawkeye" Roth in Nov 1995; at my first Huaco Lodge banquet. Later on he was my coach counselor for the Woodbadge class I attended in 1998. We became good friends and hung out both in and out of Scouting. It's hard to believe he is gone and he will be missed greatly. Every time I pull out the PA system he gave me, I will always think fondly of the times we used it together.

I was fortunate enough to be one of Pat's Explorer Scouts and then to work with him again at Camp Mabry. He had a very unique style while living in the field, that I will always remember with a smile. Thank you Pat for your leadership, your patriotism and your overall jest for life and for passing it along to others. God bless you and your family.

My memories of Patrick began with him as a charter member of Explorer B.S.A. Post 89. That was back in the 60's. Some of the guys are still keeping in touch and share so many memories of their scouting times and antics. A lot of these I know about, due to the fact that my father, Bill Teseny was their Advisor. Patrick was always "Bigger Than Life" and stayed true to his friends with all the strength he had, as evidenced with his sharing memories at my husband Lee's funeral, back in December 2013. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Roth family.  I do remember you in the 49th DISCOM.  I was a young Soldier then but Senior NCOs like him made the DISCOM the best unit in the Texas Army National Guard.

I had the privilege  of serving with MSG Roth - he was a wonder person and NCO. Blessings to his family.

I have many fond memories of Pat, Hawkeye, our Vigil Brother, from our times together at Camp Tahauya.  Hawkeye was a selfless servant of our area youth through his involvement in Scouting.  His public service as a soldier and peace officer also marks him as a special servant among us, a man who keeps the vigil to protect and serve his fellow citizens.  My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and those closest to him.  He set an example for many others as his life was indeed well lived. What a great person "Rock" was and what great memories he made for the scouts. I went through scouts with his son Erik. I remembering traveling to Philmont in the back of his SUV and rappelling off Eagle Peak at night with his scout group. Rest in peace Rock you will always be remembered.

I first met Pat in January 1978, when I came to work at 
Camp Mabry, at that time Pat was a reserve member.
I was always impressed at how serious he was in doing
his work and his work with the Boys Scouts.  A few 
years later he became a Full-Time Active Guard member, working with me on a daily basis as our Supply Sergeant ,
again his work attitude and desire to be the best was
 always evident.  I kept in touch with Pat at Camp Mabry 
until I left in May 1994, I watched him progress in rank 
and position and was alway impressed on his desire to 
help all solders, especially the younger ones.  
Regrettably, I don't have not seen Pat since I left 
Camp Mabry, and regrettably I am out of State and
 will not be able to attend his services.  My salute to you
 Pat and my deepest sympathy to Joyce and the
Roth Family.
