

His newest assignment in heaven, comes with the promise that his youth and strength will be renewed like the eagles, and a reunion with family and friends that he has not seen in a long time. His new home is a wonderful place where he can be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus, enjoy amazing music (his passion), socialize, explore, laugh and get answers to life's most interesting questions.
Paul was born in Houston Texas, but raised in California. He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona College and received his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. Paul had an illustrious 40 year career with IBM. He also held management positions at Memorex of California and Atlas Electronics of Malaysia. Other accomplishments include service to the community by being a Board member of Caritas, he was an Elder, a business owner, a mentor and he received many outstanding citations from IBM.
He married the love of his life, Berna, in 1986. He was a devoted family man and a loving father. Paul was well known and respected in the community. He moved to Austin in 1990 and made his life here over the past 27 years. He was a faithful friend and a trusted confidant. He was compassionate and sought to put the needs of others before his own. Paul was kind and soft- spoken with a peaceful spirit and temperament. His contagious smile brought joy to the room. He will be dearly missed by those he loved who celebrate the fact that he is in the presence of Jesus now and forever.
Paul is survived by his wife Berna; his sons Erik, Jemal and Justin; his daughter Amanii: his grandchildren Christian, Myesha, Brianna, Kiah, Jordan, Jahquila, Irie and Azari and his sisters Judi and Jane. He also has nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his brother William and his parents George and Berniece.
Visitation will be held on Sunday July 30, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville, Texas, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Bridge Community Church of Hutto, Texas, Monday July 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor David McLain will officiate the service.
