

On December 12, 1959, he married Mary Lou Guthrie. Bob had a career in public service and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked with the Wise, Virginia VFD, the Newton, Kansas VFD, NASA, Tracor Aerospace and was a federal agent for the Department of Transportation. He also volunteered as a driver for the Veterans Hospital and was an over-the-road trucker.
He was a member of the American Red Cross, VFW of Round Rock, Round Rock United Methodist Church, Round Rock O.E.S and Masonic Lodge, the Grand Lodge of Texas, the Scottish Rite and the Ben Hur Shrine. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and in 2013 he earned the rank of Major with the Former Texas Rangers Foundation in Fredericksburg. He also liked 3D wood puzzles and square dancing.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou McDilda, who passed away in 2004. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children, Wayne McDilda and wife Eileen M., Doug McDilda and wife Eileen A., and Cheryl Prince and husband Ray; grandchildren, Kenneth McDilda, Scott Hall, Jeremy Hall, Cody Hall and Kathryn Yarbrough; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Diana “Sue” McDilda.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
