Roger Dean Jenkins was born to Oddies Thomas and Edna Mae Jenkins on June 12, 1949 in Austin, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age before he attended and graduated from the old L.C. Anderson High School.
Upon graduating, he worked for Texas School for the Deaf until he retired. During his retirement, Roger worked part time at Office Depot until he became ill in 2017. After a year long illness, Roger won his battle and gained his wings on July 24, 2018.
Roger married Marilyn Jenkins on October 20 ,1973. To this union they had one daughter. Left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter Kawanna Jenkins, grandchildren: Dominique Jenkins and Keyanna Jenkins, two sisters: Edna (Arthur) Washington of Crestview, Florida and Janet Jenkins of Austin, Texas, hosts of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jeanette Jenkins, and his brother Melvin (Bessie) Jenkins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Marilyn Jenkins, mother in law Thelma Ricks, Hospice Austin, Meals on Wheels, and Walgreens.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Freedom Home Baptist Church with a committal service to follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
