Ronny was born in June 1958 in Austin, TX to Euel and Mildred (Adams) Smith. He attended Austin public schools and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1976. He worked as a paint contractor for most of his adult life. He was married to his wife, Janice (Buford) Smith, for 38 years. Ronny was most proud of his position as grandfather, known to his grandkids as POP!, and was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially with construction or building projects. He loved old vehicles, farm auctions, being on the water and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was known for his generosity, his compassion, his entertaining stories, and his corny jokes.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Janice, and their children: Tiffany, Rebecca, William, and Robert and their spouses, six grandchildren, and his sisters: Barbara, Peggi, Mary, and Joi. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The visitation will be held at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home on Monday, May 23rd from 5pm - 8pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at First Baptist Church, Pflugerville at 10am. There will be a graveside service immediately following the funeral at Walnut Creek Cemetery, in Austin.
