He was the first of two children. He attended O. L. Price High School in Taylor, Texas and soon after; he enter the U.S. Army through the Draft and was stationed at Ft. Bliss and Ft. Hood in the 2nd Armored Division, achieving the rank of Private First Class (E3).
After his time in the military, he attended Prairie View A&M University and soon united in Holy Matrimony with Minnie Faye Hurd, and to this union two children were born: Son, Sherman Taylor III and daughter, Alicia Jaree Nicole Taylor.
His hobbies were fishing, gardening and listening to Blues. As a career, he worked as an Electronics Technician at CSI and Wayne Dresser in North Austin. Sherman lost his battle with Colon Cancer on November 3, 2019 and passed away at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his precious daughter Alicia.
Sherman leaves behind his wife, Minnie Faye Hurd Taylor of Austin; one son, Sherman (Kimberly) also of Austin, and three grandchildren, Raife, Imani and Khyah. He also leaves behind one brother, John (Beulah), two nephews Edwin and Charles (Mary-Beth); one great-nephew (Cole); and a host of sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
