God loaned the world his gift of Shirley for 93 years and has now called his angel home. He truly blessed us with a special mom who not only loved and cherished her family but treated everyone as though they were.
The Lord took Shirley May Quick into his loving arms on Saturday April 10, 2021 at home in Round Rock, Texas.
Shirley was born on May 15, 1928 in Everett, Washington. Shirley is the daughter of Fredrick Hemmie Olson and Bessie Marie White. She grew up in Washington with two siblings, Everett & Jim.
Growing up in Washington, she met the love of her life; Boatswain’s Mate First Class USN, O.T. Quick, Jr. They were married on October 27, 1945 in Everett, Washington. Soon after getting married Shirley and O.T. moved to Austin, Texas. Shirley quickly settled into her role as a devoted wife and flourished as they started their legacy of a family. Shirley and O.T. went on to have six children. Shirley spent her days caring for her husband and doing all she could do to help raise her family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Hemmie Olson and Bessie Marie White; her husband, OT Quick, Jr.; son, Billy Quick; and grandson, Jason Armstrong.
Shirley is survived by her five children, Ted and Linda Quick of Bakersfield, California, Carl and Lisa Quick of San Antonio, Texas, Nancy and Jim Swaney of Round Rock, Texas, Gina and Billy Armstrong of Round Rock, Texas, and Jimmy Quick of Liberty Hill, Texas. Shirley proudly has and is survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the service following at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.
