Sophie Marie Knight

Our beloved Sophie Marie Knight received her angel wings on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, after a valiant fight with a brief illness. Born November 5, 2008, she was with us for 679 days or 1 year, 10 months and 10 days, of which we cherish every second. She grabbed our fingers with her little hands as she learned to walk and holds our hearts forever. She made friends of all ages effortlessly with her easygoing nature and ready smile. She loved to shake, wiggle and laugh, especially to the sounds of Barney and Yo Gabba Gabba. She was proud of her growing vocabulary and ability to communicate. A loving network of family and friends will remember her always. She amazed her beloved daddy and momma, Grant and Lindsay Knight, throughout her life. Other survivors include: great-grandparents Mrs. Bobbie Jones of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kresse of Houston, Texas; grandparents Kin and Sandy Knight of Plano, Texas, and Susan and Charles Berniard of Sugar Land, Texas; aunts and uncles Sam Berniard and fiancé Christine Pasculado, DeAnne and Bradley Allen, and Eric and Rachel Fite. She is also survived by great aunts and uncles Lewis and Dorothy Berniard, Weldon and Joann Knight, Debbie and Gerry Wright, Lou Ethel and Kerm Albertson, Joe and Kim Kresse, John and Brenda Kresse, Matt and Sandra Kresse, Steve and Angie Kresse, Geoff and Jackie Kresse and Margaret McCoy. She has numerous cousins, all of whom were special to her and she loved being in their midst at family gatherings and reunions. In particular, she was close to Adrian, Sean and Maia Fite; honorary “big sister” Arianna Gundlach; Aaron and Caleb Kresse, and Veronica Kresse. She also has several honorary aunts who were special to her: Emily Adamcik, Amber Hill, Ashley Merchant, Stephanie Pellegrin and Peggy Yang. We will miss our beautiful Sophie girl, the sunshine of our lives.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2010. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
