With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sultan Ali Bahrami, lovingly known as Pedar—the Farsi word for “father.” He passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, just one month before his 96th birthday, having spent his final day surrounded by the family he adored.
Born on July 29, 1929, in Iran, Pedar was an only child who grew into the heart and soul of a large, loving family. He shared 74 beautiful years of marriage with Madar—Batoul Bahrami—the love of his life and his soulmate in every sense of the word. Together, they raised 9 children, and their legacy grew to include 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pedar spent 35 years working in Iran’s oil industry before moving to Texas in 1985. In Austin, he and Madar built a new life together as real estate investors, facing every challenge and joy side by side.
A passionate traveler and joyful spirit, Pedar went on 33 cruises, loved good food, played Texas Hold ’Em, and was passionate about making Persian pickled vegetables, torshi. In his younger years, he went to the movies almost every night and kept that love for life and entertainment throughout the decades.
More than anything, Pedar cherished his family. He brought everyone together with his warmth, laughter, and generous heart. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy—and his spirit will live on in every story told around the table, every shared meal, and every moment spent together.
Pedar lived fully, loved deeply, and will be missed beyond measure. His unwavering kindness, boundless curiosity, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He taught by example and led with love, leaving behind a life beautifully lived. His wisdom, humility, and sense of humor uplifted generations and will echo across time in the lives he touched.
