Wanda Fay Ray, age 99, of Austin, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. She was born May 22, 1925, in San Saba, Texas to Loy and Vada Harkey Schneider. She was a lady who loved to paint and was very active in the activities of her children as they were growing up.
She worked as a clerk at Dillards and Foley's at the Highland Mall. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Briggs and husband, Lee; Loyce Cook; and Betty Newmann and husband, Martin; 5 grandchildren, Crystal Cook, David Briggs, Jami North, Christina Henchey and Matthew Newmann; along with other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Ray; her brother Carey Gene Schneider; sisters, Laurine Everett and Patsy Shahan; and 3 grandchildren, Michael Certa, Roy Cook, and Steven Bowling.
Memorial services will be held January 13, 2025, and 2:00pm at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
