Alfonsa Trapani of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the age of 95. She was born on March 18, 1927 in Aragona, Agrigento, Sicilia, Italia, where she grew up with her parents and siblings.
Alfonsa came to this country in 1955 as a seamstress and then met the love of her life shortly after she moved here. They married in October 1955 and then became mother of two girls, Provvidenza Trapani and Carmela Trapani. She and her family moved to Phoenix in 1985 where they lived with their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Giovanni Morici, Carmela Tirone Chiaramonte, and Maddalena Morici, and spouse, Salvatore Trapani.
She is survived by her children, Provvidenza (Rick) Trapani and Carmela Trapani. Grandchildren Rosalinda (Fred) Newell, Filippo Chiarenza, Liana (Mike) Chiarenza, Matthew Chiarenza, Corianna (Darrell) Lee, Carisa (Austin) Frisby, Brian (Emily) Frisby, and Daniel (Raina) Frisby. She had 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Cornelia, Michelle, and Marjorie at Suntown Assisted Living for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
