

Anna Lee, a well-known leader in the Chinese community, peacefully passed away at her Chandler home September 20, 2011 at the age of 83. She was born September 6, 1928 in Guangzhou, China and immigrated to the United States in 1949 when she married Jack Lee who passed on in 2002. Anna and Jack became community leaders in Coolidge and later in Phoenix, supporting US-China relations, Phoenix Chinese schools and the Chinese Senior Citizen’s Center. Anna was a world traveler and gifted artist whose work was often a focal point at the annual Phoenix Chinese Week celebration. She is survived by her three children: Connie Delehanty and her husband Steve of New York City; Monty Lee, his wife Alice and their children Allison and Connor of Goodyear, Arizona; and Kenneth Lee, his wife Roseanne and their children Jonathon and Michael of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by her brother H.C. Chan of Hong Kong, sister Yuet May Ho of Vancouver and her sister Hin May Leung of Los Angeles. Visitation will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in the Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM, the service will follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to continue Anna’s support of the Chinese schools. A contribution made payable to Connor Lee can be sent to him at 15135 W. Coolidge St., Goodyear, Arizona 85395 and he will distribute the proceeds.
