Arlene Y. Jackson

Arlene Y. (Young) Jackson was born to William Cecil Young Jr., from Lascassas, Tennessee and Louise Gore from Atlanta, Georgia on June 5, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. Arlene was raised in Lascassas, Tennessee and has two sister’s Cecilia James from Nashville, Tennessee and Helen Givens from Detroit, Michigan. Arlene attended high school at Camden Academy located in Camden, Alabama. She attended college at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.Arlene was married to Walter Edward Jackson on December 18, 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts. Being the wife of a USAF serviceman, Arlene lived in multiple cities and traveled around the world. Arlene established life-long friendships while she and her family were stationed at Pope AFB, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Bindlach Army Base Hof-Germany and Luke AFB in Arizona.Arlene was an avid reader of books, she participated in several book clubs and bible studies groups. She volunteered her time throughout the years with the Alzheimer’s organization and Hospice. Arlene was member of the local Phoenix Tuskegee Club as well as TREA. Arlene was also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Lastly, Arlene was a loved member of the Wesley United Methodist Church family. Arlene retired from AT&T / Alcatel-Lucent at the age of 64 where she had well over 20 years of service performing jobs in multiple capacities. Her final position was as a master scheduler managing the production of all cables and wiring at the Belden manufacturing plant.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was always willing to help whenever and wherever it was needed.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Walter Edward Jackson, who passed away July 8, 1982. She is survived by her son Walter Michael Jackson from Phoenix, AZ, her daughter Cecelia Michelle Jones, son-in-law Mark Stanley Jones and her favorite person in this world her grandson Micah Edward Jones all from Gurnee, Illinois.
