

Betty Joan Forbes, 94 years of age (just two months and four days shy of her next earthly birthday), received answers to her prayers and ascended to her Heavenly Homegoing on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m.
As inspired by experiences that Betty found throughout the Holy Bible’s Scripture, it can confidently be said, “It Is Well With Her Soul”.
Her family and friends are welcome to attend Betty’s graveside service being held Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85027.
Betty was born on October 14, 1929, in Phoenix, Arizona to Charles Allen and Edith Marie Barnes. Betty was one of ten children who were local farmers in Phoenix and Prescott, Arizona. She leaves two surviving brothers, Loy Barnes and Jim Barnes; her son Tom Forbes and his wife Heather Forbes; her daughter-in-law, Dede Forbes; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Johnson; 8 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard E. Forbes, after 48 years of marriage. And two sons, John Forbes and Dan Forbes, as well as many beloved pets.
Betty was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, daughter-in-law, employee, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandmother, friend, and a faithful witness of God to a multitude of people throughout her 94 years of life.
She leaves behind a family she was proud of and wanted all to know, Jesus Does Care.
To celebrate Betty’s life well lived, a family hosted Celebration of Life after Betty’s graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the East Valley at 3136 East Irwin Avenue, Mesa, Arizona 85205.
In lieu of flowers or other offerings, the family is requesting that donations be made to the West Clinical Team of Hospice of the Valley (HOV) to support their patient care needs.
