It is with heavy hearts that the family of Connie Montoya announce the death of our beloved mother, who peacefully passed away on August 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old. Connie was born on May 15, 1933 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Victor & Elpidia Torres, and she lived in Flagstaff until 1990 when she and her husband Hilario (Larry) moved to Phoenix.
Connie was a beacon of love and kindness whose warmth touched everyone she met. She was a devout Catholic and an exemplary angel of God. Her home was always open, a permanent gathering place where family, friends, food and fun were her passion. She loved music, and was an avid Diamondbacks and Suns fan!
She will be remembered for the unconditional love and support she gave to her family, good food and tamale making around the Flagstaff community. She was the biggest supporter of all sports events her children and grandchildren participated in. Her legacy of love, compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the unwavering love and joy she brought into our lives.
Connie is survived by her children Chris (Javier), Rudy, Barb (Ray), Ralph (JoAnna), Dodie (Agustin), Lorraine (Leonard), Mary and daughter-in- law Anna, 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren, 5 generations strong.
