

Consuelo De Leon Nava, a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and teacher lived life on her terms, adventurer and free spirit. Full of life and joy with a positive, optimistic attitude. Ms. Nava, as known to her student was an enthusiastically supporter of “her” kids and often reminded them they were destined for greater and better things with a Higher Education. Her Pedagogy career spanned over 33 years, starting at Wilson School District continuing onto Phoenix Elementary School District, and ending at Phoenix Union High School District. She recently retired as she battled her illness.
Consuelo De Leon Nava, 56 years old, made Phoenix, her home for the past 45 years, died on Saturday March 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was born in Mexico, on the 21st of August. She is survived by her husband Gilbert Lopez, Siblings Arcelia Nava, Silvia Nava, Gabriela Rodriguez (Marco A. Rodriguez), and Marcelino Nava De Leon (Alina Nava). Her pride and joy “sons and daughters” (nieces and nephews) include: Carlos, Marco A. II (Chato), Gabrielita (Girl), Clarissa, Yvette, Melissa and Emma; Grandbabies/Great Nieces and Nephews: Matthew, Alejandra (Maya) Baby Jimmy, Audrey, Joey and Andre (Gabriel), Leilani, and Trinity. She was grateful knowing Big Jimmy, Steven, and Jason would take care of her nieces. She is further survived by other relatives and dear loving friends and colleagues. If someone was forgotten or left out please forgive us, you are not forgotten in her heart. Greatly loved and missed by nieces, nephews, close friends and coworkers. Services are as follows: Viewing Thursday 3/26/15 from 5:30 to 8 pm @ South Mountain High School Auditorium located at 5401 S. 7th St, Phx, AZ 85040; Religious services Friday 3/27/15 @ 10 am @ St. Anthony’s Catholic Church located at 909 S. 1st Ave, Phx, AZ 85003, burial to follow. May she rest in peace as she joins her Mother Maria Patrocinio Nava, Father Marcelino Nava Sr., Grandparents Fidel de Leon and Juanita Lopez, Felix Nava and Maria Acosta. May she now rest in peace as an angel in heaven. In lieu of flowers make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Hospice of the Valley, GoRed Heart Association, and any school of your choice.
