Dave was born on January 16, 1949, in Chicago, IL to Edward and Josephine. Growing up, Dave enjoyed attending Cubs games at Wrigley Field and was a competitive wrestler in high school. He later served in the Army before returning to school where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Illinois in 1975.
After moving to Phoenix in 1980, Dave welcomed 3 children over the next seven years. He emphasized the importance of education and hard work and, as a result, his children would go on to earn a combined seven college degrees and pursue careers in technology, science, and analytics. Dave’s children remember him as a loving father who was proud of their many accomplishments and who encouraged each of them to pursue their goals, travel the world, and experience the joys of life.
Dave was a sports and technology enthusiast, often sharing insights on the latest and greatest electronics with his loved ones. He even built his own computers! With this love of technology and passion for education, he worked at a local community college teaching aspiring laboratory technologists. In addition, Dave felt a great sense of comradery with his coworkers at John C. Lincoln, where he worked as laboratory supervisor serving the greater Phoenix community for the last 25 years.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine, and his father, Edward. He is survived by his children, Kristina, Kassie, and Adam; and his brother, Roy. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Wednesday January 20, 2021, at Paradise Memorial Cemetery and Crematory at 9300 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
