She was born on April 8th, 1950 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to Berner and Elizabeth Dunaway. She attended the University of Georgia where she studied social work.
Diane married Rob in 1976 and they were married for nearly 50 years. They lived in a number of locations while Rob was a church pastor, ultimately settling in the Phoenix area in 1998.
Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Rob Lake, her children, Elizabeth and Ryan Lake, her grandchildren, Hayden and Ashley Lake, and her sister, Linda Dunaway Collins. Diane's brother, Andy Collins, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on March 9, 2026, at Phoenix Bible Church, 6060 N 7th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85013, with a luncheon reception to follow.
