Dorothy A. Hoover, 80, of Tempe, a retired Home Economics teacher for the Scottsdale School district, died December 16, 2011. Dorothy was born in Phoenix and was a lifelong resident of the valley. She was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and Arizona State University. She was active in Chi Omega, as a Girl Scout Leader and in her community's home owner's association. Dorothy is survived by daughters; Carol D. Franks and Jane A., sons; John A and Chris D., sister Mary Reid, and three grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Carr-Tenney Mortuary 2621 S. Rural Rd. in Tempe, Arizona on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Carr-Tenney Mortuary, www.carrtenneymortuary.com in Tempe, Arizona.
