Edward C. Anderson, an Arizona native and one of the last of the "Greatest Generation” passed away May 1st at 97, in Laguna Hills, California. Sgt. Anderson, served as a combat veteran of WWII in the South Pacific. He worked for Blakely Oil Company before starting his own business, contracting with US oil companies building and maintaining service stations across Arizona. The most important words that can be written about Edward Carlyle Anderson describe his character: he was love personified; he was kind, and generous, and the magnitude of his kindness was impacting on everyone he met. Our only solace in his passing is knowing we will see him again because of Jesus. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Anderson. He is survived by three children, Carlene Mattson (Robert), the Honorable Lex E. Anderson (Kannikar) and Stacey Castleberry, four grandchildren, Ty Mattson (Rhea), Jeff Mattson, Teri McKerry, and Patrick Carlyle Anderson, and two great grandchildren, Shepard Carlyle Mattson and Parker Grace Mattson. Services will be private. Donations may be made to www.uso.org.
