April 13, 1937 – August 8, 2025
Elda Estrada Garcia was born on April 13, 1937, in beautiful Guatemala, where her life began with a story of love and resilience. She was adopted by Natalia and Joaquin Estrada, who raised her with care and strong values that would shape the rest of her life.
In Guatemala, Elda became the proud mother of two beloved children, Armanda and Jorge Gonzalez. Fueled by dreams of building a better life for her family, she made the courageous decision to journey to the United States. Though it meant leaving her children behind temporarily, her goal was always clear: to create a future where they could be reunited in a home built from her love and hard work.
Elda arrived in Los Angeles, California, where she worked as a nanny for a warm and generous family in Beverly Hills. They welcomed her as one of their own, and through them, she was able to experience the joy of travel, even visiting Hawaii—something she cherished deeply. It was during these early years in America that Elda met the love of her life, Hector Garcia. The two were married in December of 1972 and were later blessed with a daughter, Elizabeth, in 1974.
Elda was a dedicated and skilled electronic assembler, working for many years and forging lifelong friendships along the way. When her company relocated to Texas, she chose instead to remain rooted in her community, working as a school aide at her local elementary school—a job that perfectly suited her warm, nurturing spirit.
In 2001, Elda moved to Phoenix, Arizona to be closer to her daughter and to step into the role she cherished most—being a grandmother. When her first granddaughter, Angelica Victoria, was born, Elda’s heart overflowed with love. She embraced her with unmatched joy and poured her wisdom, warmth, and boundless care into every moment they shared. Six years later, Elda’s heart grew even fuller as she joyfully welcomed her second granddaughter, Jacquelyn. With the same deep devotion, she nurtured and cared for both girls, always offering a gentle hand, a listening ear, and unconditional love. Elda’s influence in their lives was profound. She helped shape Angelica into the extraordinary young woman she is today and laid the same foundation of love and strength for Jacquelyn. Being their grandmother brought her immeasurable happiness, and her legacy of tenderness, resilience, and selfless love will live on through them always.
Elda will be remembered for her boundless love, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to her family. Her journey from Guatemala to the U.S. is a testament to her determination and courage. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, sacrifice, and deep, unconditional love.
Throughout her life, Elda faced many joys and many hardships, including the profound loss of her beloved sons, Jorge and Armanda. Each was taken far too soon—one to heart complications and the other to pancreatic cancer. Their passing brought unimaginable sorrow to Elda’s heart, yet she carried their memory with strength, grace, and quiet resilience every day thereafter.
Though their absence was deeply felt, there is great comfort in knowing that, as Elda entered eternal rest, she was lovingly welcomed into heaven by the arms of her two precious boys. Their reunion is a beautiful reminder that love knows no bounds—not even time or distance—and that they are now together again, at peace, and whole.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Hector Garcia; her cherished daughter, Elizabeth; and her two precious granddaughters, Angelica Victoria and Jacquelyn, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched—and she will forever be missed.
