Eugene Alan Dubs

Eugene (Gene) Dubs, 79, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on April 12, 2012. He was born on May 8, 1932 in Hammond, Indiana, where he met his wife, Katie, at Hammond High School. In August of 1951, Gene married Katie, which began an incredible 54-year love affair until Katie’s death in 2002. In 1954 Gene graduated with an accounting degree from Michigan State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for two years before joining General Electric as a financial analyst. He served in several financial executive positions before joining Abbott Laboratories as Vice-President – Auditing. In 1983 he and Katie were founding partners of an accounting and tax business. Traveling, sports, and jigsaw puzzles were some of his favorite pastimes. He made several round-the-world trips during his business career. Gene leaves behind his children, Scott, Cindy, and Cheryl, and seven grandchildren. Private Services are to be held Thursday, April 19, 2012.
