Dick passed away December 19, 2019 peacefully in his own home with family present. Dick was born in Butte, Montana on June 12, 1947 to Everett and Sandy Boyer. He grew up there with his two brothers John and Dan. Dick's family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1952 where he later attended North High School. Soon after, Dick started down a path where he became a life long educator. He served in the Air Force where he became a pilot instructor. After following in his dad's footsteps of becoming an electrician, he contributed to the electrician community by instructing for the Electrical Apprentice program and was a member of the IBEW Local 640 electrical union for over 50 years. As his children grew up Dick coached and instructed hundreds of kids in soccer, baseball, and softball for over 15 years. He shaped a lot of young lives by instilling sportsmanship, work ethic, and morals into his coaching which left a huge impact and a lot of great memories for those kids. For 50 years Dick was a member of the Elks club and he also started the 32nd Street Business Alliance. Throughout Dick's wonderful life, he couldn't have done it without his loving wife of 52 years, Gail. Together they raised a wonderful family and made an impact on their community and many people's lives. Gail's love and wonderful caring for Dick in his last years is something to be admired. Dick was loved and will be missed by many.
Dick leaves behind his mother Sandy, wife Gail, brothers John and Dan, kids Troy, JoDee, and Matthew, 7 grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior project would be appreciated.
