

Frankie Diaz was born into a large and loving family, one of eleven children raised by his parents, Mary and Jose Diaz. He grew up with strong values, deep family ties, and a passion for athletics that would shape the course of his life.
Frankie attended grammar school and later West High School, where his natural athletic talent quickly became evident. He competed on the varsity football team and was a dedicated wrestler, laying the foundation for a lifetime of physical discipline and achievement.
Following high school, Frankie continued his education at Arizona State University (ASU), majoring in Physical Education and Health. His athletic ability shined on ASU’s wrestling team, where he earned second place in the state for two consecutive years, a remarkable accomplishment that reflected his drive and determination.
After graduating, Frankie began his professional life at Camelback High School, teaching Physical Education and Health. Known for his encouraging spirit and steady guidance, he inspired countless students to pursue their own strengths and potential.
Frankie’s commitment to service extended beyond education. He worked for the Fire Department, proudly serving as a firefighter for about a year. He also worked for the City of Sierra Vista, and retired from the City of Phoenix closing a career marked by dedication and integrity.
Athletics remained a lifelong passion. Frankie was deeply involved in bodybuilding, both as a competitor and as a judge. He remained active in the bodybuilding community until the age of 65–70, earning respect for his knowledge, fairness, and unwavering discipline.
Frankie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary and Jose Diaz, along with several of his siblings. He leaves behind two surviving brothers, Henry Diaz and Adolf Diaz, and many nieces and nephews who will forever honor his memory.
Frankie will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and the legacy he leaves through the many lives he influenced throughout his years as an athlete, teacher, mentor, and family member.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his life continue to shine as an example of perseverance, courage, and heart.
A funeral service will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, located at 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009, on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009, on November 28, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
