Gary was my cousin born just a year after me. He lived about a mile away in Alhambra and we always met at Grandma Mary Mount's home on Glendon Way in South San Gabriel for several years. We spent a lot of time at grandma's playing cops and robbers and loved looking through the Sears catalog. Grandpa Mount worked as a night watchman at a feed store and slept during the day. Grandma tried to keep us quiet. When we were outside one time we tried to start grandpa's 1949 Pontiac(?). It had a starter on the floor. We could only move it to the front gate where it stopped. I don't remember if we got in trouble for that day or not.
