George M. Kalaf, 94, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on February 20, 2013. George was born to Manheim Kalaf and Shaheeny Maloof Kalaf on August 21, 1918 in Superior, AZ. He grew up and graduated high school in Superior where he excelled in football. George pioneered the mining, drilling and electrical system installations in many AZ state buildings. George had pride in his hometown and was a member of the Superior Historical Society for many years. He was a member of the IBEW Local 640 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as well as a charter member of the Elks Lodge. George loved to play golf, and enjoyed many other sports. He also spent many weekends and holidays in Las Vegas playing craps and poker. George will be tearfully remembered as the kindest and most generous gentleman. Always ready to help without hesitation and without expectation of anything in return. He will be dearly missed. George was preceded in passing by his parents, his brothers, Abe, Stanley, William, Donnie, and his sisters, Olga and Betty. George is survived by his brother Louis. Services will be private.
