She was born on December 26, 1926 in Superior (Derry Township), PA; a daughter of the late John and Ida (Hill) Doherty. She grew up and thrived in the Ligonier and Derry areas; marrying the late John W Cogan and raising a family before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1973.
Throughout her entire life, Trudie was a quiet but strong role model for everyone in her orbit; demonstrating how practicing empathy and kindness benefits everyone.
In addition to her husband and parents, Trudie was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Martin, and two brothers, John and George Doherty. Trudie is survived by a sister, Kathryn Deglau of Latrobe, PA and two sons, John Cogan Jr (Diana) of Livonia, NY and Denny Cogan (Barbara) of Cave Creek, AZ, and four grandsons.
Trudie was a member of North Scottsdale United Methodist Church in AZ. A memorial service will be held at the church on Wednesday, June 4th at 10:00 AM. NSUMC is located at 11735 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85824.
