Gregory was born on March 14th, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was diagnosed with Tubular sclerosis at a very young age. He faced many challenges growing up and throughout his life, but always did his best to overcome them. He had a love for sports that started when he was very young. Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, you name it, and he loved them all.
He grew up in Glendale, AZ and attended special ed classes. He graduated from Apollo High School in 1988. Growing up he participated in the Special Olympics and always did very well. He enjoyed playing basketball, football and baseball with all the neighborhood kids and his cousins when they came to visit. He also loved to swim and roller skate around the neighborhood with all his neighborhood friends.
Despite his handicap his mind was sharp, he would memorize and be able to tell you the stats of any player and any sport. He had the television on always watching the sports channel and knew all the latest updates about any team and player.
With his Parents, Uncles, Aunts and cousins he attended ASU football games dating way back to the 70's every season and loved cheering them on! He also loved attending and cheering on the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes Hockey and Arizona Rattlers arena football games.
He also had a love for movies, horror and comedy films were his favorite and loved going to the theater to watch with his mom and Brother Chris.
Gregory loved to travel. Along with his parents and family he would take vacations each year growing up. From California and all the amusement parks (he loved Roller Coasters) to summer vacations in Lake Tahoe with his cousins. Hawaii and Caribbean cruises Las Vegas, Orlando, New York and so many other cities and states throughout the US that he got to visit and see. He was lucky to be able to attend both the 1987 and 1997 Rose Bowl games in Pasadena, CA to cheer on ASU (His favorite) and cheered them on also while visiting Notre Dame.
We are all going to miss Gregory and his gentleness, his kind hearted spirit, his smile and hearing him crack up laughing about the silliest things.
