

Henry “Hank” Behm , 78, of Phoenix, AZ passed away August 8, 2012. Hank was born in Kansas City, MO on October 3, 1933 to Leroy and Arline (Cocagne) Behm. Hank was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City. He married Bernita Henggeler, on June 7, 1958.
Hank served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force as an airborne radio operator. He was honorably discharged in 1956 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had many wonderful memories of his travels around the world. Hank was a police officer for the City of Phoenix from 1964 – 1982, leaving the force on a medical retirement.
Hank loved to fly. He obtained his private pilot’s license and enjoyed being able to take flight in one of his many planes he owned over the years. He also loved to fly model airplanes and was a member of the AUX 6 R/C Fliers club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Raymond and Joseph.
He is survived by his wife Bernita of Phoenix, AZ; his children, Michele Harvey-Highbe (husband David), Alamo, NV; Daniel, Phoenix, AZ; Suzanne Collette (husband Roger), Albany, OR; grandchildren Jennifer, Lindsey, Jonathan, Nicholas, Philip, Chelsea, Brendan, Bradley, Margaret and Culen; great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ashley, Jade, Meagan, Matthew and Wyatt; sisters Patricia Heinz and Mary Sue Wilcox, both of Kansas City, MO; many nieces and nephews.
Ham operator Hank Behm, call sign KD7-HIV, has made his last call. He will be missed by many relatives and friends.
