Irene P. Melander, 90, of Glendale, AZ passed away on August 25, 2010. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by husband Don and son Jim. She is survived by daughters Carol A. (Dick) Dickson, Marlene K. (Dan) Gunn, Diana L. (Bob) Gano, Betty J. (Ken) DeMas and Jennifer I. (Greg) McCawley; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Gladys Palach and Brother Joseph (Helen) Jaeger, and many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to: Hospice of the Valley, Gardiner Home, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers at the Hospice of the Valley, Gardiner Home, for the loving care and compassion that was provided.
