Jim was born in Pierre, South Dakota on July 13, 1940. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Warne, his two sons Jim and Don and their wives, Jill and Maylynn along with grandsons: Ryan, Kyle and Shonto, and granddaughter Ana. He lived in Tempe for 57 years. Jim attended Tempe High School and was a member of the 1956 undefeated “Buffaloes” football team (his sons also attended Tempe High). In 1956 Jim worked as an Assistant Produce Manager for A.J. Bayless Market in Tempe, AZ. Jim was a proud graduate of Arizona State University and life-long Sun Devil. He could be heard saying, “the Warne family has ten degrees from ASU.” In 1962 Jim was the Office Manager for M.L Warne Chemical & Equipment Company in Rapid City, SD where he met his future wife, Beverly. In 1965 worked for the U.S. Department of State, Agency for International Development in Washington, DC; in 1967 lived and worked in Bankok, Thailand; in 1970 continued his education at the Thunderbird School of International Business, earning a Masters of International Management degree in Glendale, AZ; in 1971 lived and worked in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico as an Office Manager and Accountant for Stehedco Mexicana; and in September of 1971 Jim moved back to Tempe, AZ where he worked for Arizona State Health Department and was a realtor and tax consultant as well. Jim later retired in Tempe. Jim’s business profession allowed him to take his wife and sons “literally” around the world including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and they lived in Thailand and Mexico. He often said that he needed to regain the day lost to him crossing the dateline during his travels around the world. Jim may have experienced challenges due to the living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 37 years; however, he could be heard saying, “my only complaint is I have no complaints.” This was his humor. Jim’s humor and love was his gift to all. One of his favorite sayings was “you done good,” to friends and family. We love you and will miss you very much, Pops “you done good.” Jim journeyed to the spirit world on Christmas Eve morning with family by his side at home. Visitation will be held at Carr Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm. A gathering will be held after the service at the Warne Family Residence. Please instead of flowers send a donation to the MS Society for pop. He would have like to help others with MS. Thanks for all of your support of our family and most of all for our dad, "pops"! MS Info: http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Events/AZAChapter?pxfid=225754&fr_id=7363&pg=fund
