Joan was born on February 28th, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island to Robert and Carol Boulanger. In 1984, Joan and Albert were married in Flagstaff after falling in love following a chance encounter at the bank. They remained happily married for the past 34 years. Joan was a dedicated Human Resources Trainer at Honeywell, where she retired. In addition to her career, she was a talented artist. She enjoyed painting, chip carving, and prided herself on her creativity. Throughout her years, Joan traveled many times along the East and West Coast and all over the country.
Joan is preceded in death by her son John Hamelin; and survived by her mother, Carol Boulanger; husband, Albert Olson; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and James Colbath; nieces, Mary Colbath, Caroline Zeller, Patty Trombly; and nephew, Charles Colbath.
Joan will be laid to rest at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
