Joe E. Huggins

Joseph "Joe" E. Huggins, 88, went to be with Jesus on July 29, 2012 at Season's Hospice. Joe was born on November 29, 1923 in Drumright, OK. He was one of three sons born to Robert & Tabitha Huggins. Joe served in the Army Infantry in WWII and fought in 6 campaigns. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his BMW motorcycle with friends. Joe did many different things throughout his life, including carpet sales, installation and cleaning, as well as selling insurance for Woodmen of the World. One of his favorite activities was photography, and he owned a studio up until his retirement. Joe was a jokester, he really enjoyed Will Rodgers humor. Everyone who met Joe loved him, and he will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, as well as his daughter Jo Ann. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Hazel, his daughter Kay of Phoenix, 4 grandchildren, Rob Finklea, P.J. Thurmond, Karen Juntti and Jill Finklea. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3rd, at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. in Phoenix from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek in Phoenix on Monday. Time has not been confirmed.
