

Joe V. Orosco Sr., the oldest of 7 children of the late Roque and Jennie Orosco, was called home to the Lord on Thursday September 25th, 2025, at 2:21 pm. Born in Glendale, Arizona at Williams Air Force Base and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Joe was a God-fearing man, a retired musician, a retired engineer, and loved his family ever so dearly.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Estella; son Joe Jr; son Christopher; brother Pete (Gina); sister Linda (Juan); sister Pauline (Sabio); 6 grandchildren, Alissa, Olivia, Christopher Jr, Andres Jr, Jasmine, Anthony, and 1 great-grandson, Zaine.
Preceded in death by parents Roque and Jennie Orosco, son Andres, brothers Jesse and Tommy, and sister Mary.
Joe was one of a kind, and irreplaceable in more ways than one. He always had a quick, hilarious, witty joke that stayed in your memories. His devotion to God, pride in his Chicano heritage, love for his family, and deep passion for music were all reflections of his beautiful spirit. You could’ve met him only once or twice, but that was enough for him to have made an everlasting impact on you.
All services celebrating Joe’s life will be held on Monday October 20th, 2025, at 9:30 am at Fire and Water International Church 1937 E. Diamond St Phoenix, Az 85006. Following the services, Joe’s final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, Az 85392, at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers for Joe will be his brother Pete, grandsons Andres Jr and Anthony, brothers-in-law Juan Estrada and Sabio Vilario, and close family friend Michael Williams. Honorary Pallbearer for Joe will be his son Christopher.
