John enjoyed music and playing his guitar, singing his arrangements of songs by Leonard Cohen, Mark Knopfler, and others. He was a talented artist, most recently depicting scenes of the desert Southwest. John was full of practical knowledge, giving advice when needed about any project. He had the knack of lighting up the room with his clever humor and quick wit. John never missed an opportunity to enjoy a cold Blue Moon, especially when watching his New England Patriots. Here's one for you, John! A favorite quotation of John's was "Do what you gotta do.", which fit most any situation. He will truly be missed.
John was born on May 27, 1950 in Gloversville, NY. He completed the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 13. John graduated from Gloversville High School in 1968 and graduated from Fulton Montgomery Community College in 1970. John had a long career in the insurance industry, most recently as a broker/sales associate for BC/BS Arizona. He also served for 10 years as a board member for Hospice of Arizona.
John is survived by his loving and devoted daughter Jennifer J. Harrington and her fiancé Donald L. Stone, both of Peoria, AZ, and the love of his life Linda J. (Hands) Harrington of Sun City West, AZ, whom he married in 1971. Also surviving is his sister Joan M. Duda, her husband William L. Duda, and their children Royce D. Duda and Amy M. Duda all of East Greenbush, NY and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John was pre-deceased by his parents David C. Harrington Jr. and Lillian M. Harrington and his siblings Paul W. Harrington and LouAnn Warren.
There will be a private service at the family's convenience.
