The Koenig's were invited to our wedding just over 41 years ago. They were close friends of my wife, but except for Susanna, I really did not know them. 

We were dirt poor when married, our honeymoon plans were to come home afterwards, a honeymoon we could not afford.

During the reception Big John came to me and said how much he enjoyed the wedding, and asked where we would be going for our honeymoon? I told him, and without a second of hesitation, he offered his "Hermitage" (beautiful family cabin in the woods) to us for  our honeymoon! 

John was a generous, loving man that I have always admired. All who were ever graced to know him will miss him, and keep him alive in their heart.

Pappalou was very nice to me from the day I met him. I really appreciate the kindness he showed me. It was a pleasure to have known him. He will be missed. To the whole Koenig family, I am so sorry for your loss.
