He graduated from Greenville High School where he married Anne Pearl and stayed married until the time of her passing. John joined the United States Marine Corps in 1957 until he was Honorably Discharged in 1960.
John is survived by his son John Charles (Sandra Mitchell) (Chanel Parker) Moreland; and his son David Wayne (Jennifer{dec.}) Moreland; and grandchildren; Kentrell Moreland, Asia Moreland, Adriana Moreland, Adrian Moreland, Andrea Moreland , Alena Moreland, brothers; Isaac Mason, Harvey Lee (Priscilla) Pitts and brother, Clifford (Michelle) Adams. Also nephew, Derek Mason.
John was preceded in death by his father Jack Moreland and his mother Henrietta Pitts.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. John will be taken to his Final Resting Place at 1:00PM with Military Honors .
Serving as pallbearers are: John Moreland, David Moreland, Kentrell Moreland and Harvey Pitts.
