Kaliope “Kally” Zacharos, a former Brooklynite, was best known as “the world’s best Yiayia”. Kally was an extraordinary home chef who loved to feed and entertain family and friends. Always the life of the party, Kally was known for her quick wit, impromptu mandolin performances and hilarious sense of humor. Kally is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Christy Zacharos. Christy was an extremely talented hair cutter who owned and operated Paul Christos Hair Salon in Great Neck NY and Scottsdale AZ – with Kally at his side daily, happily managing their clientele.
Kally is survived by her daughters Carol Shea and Alexis McGee, her son-in-law Terry Shea, her sister Mary Fisher, her brother Harry Seremetis, her sister-in-law Kathy Seremetis, her sister-in-law Cleopatra Guastella, her grandchildren Kathleen Kean, Chris Kean, John Shea, Cooke McGee, Kali McGee and great grandchild Mei McGee. Her final place of residence was Phoenix, Arizona.
Church Services will be held on December 6, 2021 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 1973 E Maryland Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Visitation will be at 11:00 am with services following at 11:30 am. Burial will be private.
