Born on May 6, 1930, in Broseley, Missouri, to Ira Pierce and Flora Brown, Kenneth lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. In 1949, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. After his service, he made Arizona his home in 1953 and went on to earn his degree from Arizona State University in 1958.
A brilliant and meticulous engineer, Kenneth spent 28 years at Motorola, where he played a pivotal role in designing special test equipment for the Skybolt Missile System. His contributions to aerospace engineering were a source of pride, but his true joy came from the relationships he built with colleagues, friends, and loved ones.
Beyond his career, Kenneth led a fulfilling life enriched by his passions. He obtained his pilot’s license in 1968 and became a proud member of a flying club based at Sky Harbor Airport, finding freedom and exhilaration in the skies. A man of faith, he was actively involved in the men’s group at Mountain View United Methodist Church, where he found fellowship and purpose in serving others.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Pierce, and his siblings Dorothy, Charles, Magdaline (Peggy), Ivan, Maxine, Mary, and Shirley. He leaves behind a lasting legacy through his children, Daniel (Pam), Brenda (John), Sharon (Larry); his ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and his sister, Barbara, all of whom will cherish his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Northern Arizona Hospice for the compassionate care they provided in Kenneth’s final days.
