Lee Edward Clugston, born April 1, 1972, in San Manuel, Arizona, passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 24, 2025. Lee was a man with the biggest heart—someone who loved deeply, gave freely, and made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Lee lived his life in service to others. Whether through his time in the U.S. Army, his career, or simply in everyday moments, he was always ready to help, listen, or lend a hand. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Lee never met a stranger—only friends he hadn’t helped yet.
A proud Army veteran, Lee served his country with honor and dedication, earning many accolades throughout his service including the Army Achievement Award, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar. His commitment, discipline, and integrity followed him into civilian life, especially during his more than 20-year career at the phone company. It was there that Lee not only built a career he truly loved, but also formed lifelong friendships that meant the world to him.
Above all else, Lee’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Tammy Clugston, and a proud father to his three children: Jordan Clugston, Joshua Clugston, and Alexandria Hill. His heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his seven grandchildren, whom he loved more than anything. Being “Papa” was one of his greatest honors, and his love for them was boundless and unconditional.
Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents, Jimmy Lee Clugston and Ellen Jean Clugston. Though they welcomed him home, his absence leaves a profound emptiness for those still here. His legacy, however, lives on in the countless lives he touched, the love he gave so freely, and the example he set of what it means to live with compassion and heart.
Lee will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, his selflessness, and his ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who considered him family, and a world that is better for having had him in it.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Those closest to him ask that donations be made to one of Lee’s favorite charities in his honor, in lieu of sending flowers. Among his favorite charities are the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and St. Vincent de Paul - St. Joan of Arc conference, where he spent much of his free time volunteering.
