

Memorial services for Lowell Dean Dorman, 94, of Phoenix, will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 1:00 PM at the Desert Christian Fellowship Church. The Family on behalf of Lowell request memorials to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, in lieu of flowers. A private interment with military honors will be held at the Greenwood Memory Lawn & Cemetery immediately following the service for Family members.
On December 26, 1930 Lowell was born to Herman and Harriet Dorman in Des Moines, Iowa. Lowell was the oldest of 6 children. He is survived by his sister, Dixie Madsen and brother, Jim Dorman. Lowell graduated from Truro High School in Truro, Iowa and soon began his military career. One year later, he met his future wife, a school teacher, Nedra Crawford. On June 4, 2025 they celebrated 75 years of marriage.
MSGT Lowell Dean Dorman served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and received 2 Bronze service stars from his mission in Korea. Lowell retired from the Armed Services in 1968 and soon began a new career in the Valley. For more than 25 years, Lowell held Executive Management positions at Connor Engineering, Air Research, Allied Signal and Honeywell.
Lowell was an incredible weekend warrior on the golf course, member of the Pinewood Country Club Men’s Golf Association. He was Club Champion, Senior Club Champion and even had a Hole in One. He was also an avid gardener, loved nature and especially loved all of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Lowell passed away at home on October 15, 2025 surrounded by Family, at the age of 94 years. Preceding him in death was his beloved daughter, Janet in 2023. They are now together.
Lowell will be greatly missed by his wife, Nedra Dorman, children Jim Dorman (Phyllis), Debra Manne (Ron), Susan Yankee and Dennis Dorman (Carol), 9 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
