

Margaret Taylor "Marge" Newman, 88, of Tempe, Arizona passed away on October 15, 2010. Margaret was born in El Dorado, Arkansas to Ross and Lena Taylor. She spent most of her young life in East Texas. When she was a senior in high school her family moved to Benton, Illinois where she met her husband Karl. They were married on December 30, 1941. She spent the last 62 years of her life in the Phoenix area. Marge worked for a number of companies including; Korricks Department Store, Montgomery Ward, First Federal Savings and loan, and Dru Colachis Development Company, where she retired in 1970. After retiring she turned her attention to club work and volunteerism. Marge was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also Past Finders, an auxiliary of the phoenix Museum of History where she served as a docent. Marge is preceded in death by her husband Karl. She is survived by her daughter; Debbie (Tom) Sands and her grandsons; Preston (Jessi) Sands, Ryan Sands and Alan Sands. Marge was a joy to her family and will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held at Carr Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Road in Tempe, on Saturday, October 23rd beginning at 10:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund. Arrangements are being held under the direction of Carr-Tenney Mortuary, Tempe, AZ.
